Package: libgphoto2-2 Version: 2.4.10.1-5 Severity: important -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256
The libgphoto2 Debian README [0] says: "This version of libgphoto2-installs udev files in /etc/udev/libgphoto2.rules to allow camera access to all members of group 'plugdev'." However, I see no such rules (/etc/udev/libgphoto2.rules) installed on my system: servo:~ 0$ ls /etc/udev/ hdparm.rules links.conf pcmcia.rules rules.d udev.conf servo:~ 0$ ls /etc/udev/rules.d/ 70-persistent-net.rules 85-pcmcia.rules z60_hdparm.rules servo:~ 0$ The real problem I'm facing is that udev is not creating the proper permissions on the USB camera device, preventing me from accessing my camera as a normal user, ala bug #586988. However, the reporter of #586988 seems to indicate that the libgphoto2.rules is present on their system, so I assume I'm actually facing a different bug. Thanks for the help. jamie.
