So they were positive about it -- cool.  Just please remind them
politely once again about this outstanding wishlist patch ;)  They could
have been busy at that moment and your email was swallowed due to
real-life issues ;)

yes -- upstream would be ideal... BUT debian maintainer might be a good
friend of upstream and might give your patch "another cycle" ;)
