After I upgraded upower from 0.9.8-2 to 0.9.9-1~sid1 blinking stopped, but the SUBSYSTEM=power_supply uevents flooding is still present (both on battery and on AC). After I kill it, no more uevents are emitted. Because of this, upowerd causes about 1 MB/s of disk writes.
