The patch I submitted to OpenSUSE, https://bugzillafiles.novell.org/attachment.cgi?id=419474 doesn't apply as it is to the latest Debian version; however, the structure of the code is largely the same, so porting it over is trivial for anybody having access to a Debian test box.
