Hi
Before I forget to mention it, in case lirc_i2c has been used -
ir-kbd-i2c replaces lirc_i2c and the later has been dropped from kernel
2.6.38 alltogether.
$ /sbin/modinfo
/lib/modules/2.6.32-5-amd64/kernel/drivers/media/video/ir-kbd-i2c.ko
filename:
/lib/modules/2.6.32-5-amd64/kernel/drivers/media/video/ir-kbd-i2c.ko
license: GPL
description: input driver for i2c IR remote controls

Mueller
depends: i2c-core,ir-common
vermagic: 2.6.32-5-amd64 SMP mod_unload modversions

parm: hauppauge:Specify Hauppauge remote: 0=black, 1=grey (defaults
to 0) (int)
ir-kbd-i2c creates an ordinary input device after getting loaded
(manually), which can be used as DRIVER="dev/input" or "-H devinput"
in lirc.
