Package: firestarter Version: 1.0.3-8 Severity: normal Firestarter just silently fails to start after installation, if started through the KDE4 menu (command is su-to-root -X -c /usr/sbin/firestarter).
I tried to run it from the shell, as su-to-root -c /usr/sbin/firestarter, and got message box, saying: "A proper configuration for Firestarter was not found. If you are running Firestarter from the directory you built it in, run 'make install-data-local' to install a configuration, or simply 'make install' to install the whole program. Firestarter will now close." I tried to run it as gksu firestarter, and got these messages: "The program 'firestarter' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'. (Details: serial 160 error_code 8 request_code 2 minor_code 0) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) " Reboot did not help either. After all, I run it as kdesudo firestarter, it finally started and I did go through the wizard and got working firestarter.
