Looks fine and should be detected by m-a even if the KVERS variable is omited. So how is the KVERS variable passed? Is it the correct one? As Manoj said, you did not provide logs so it is hard to say what is happening there. I still assume it is a bug in kernel-package. Does module-assistant a-i loop-aes handle that correctly?
