I have the same problem and found this bug report. Some further observations:
- It only seems to happen when GRUB runs in a wider than 80 characters screen mode (using "set gfxmode=..."). In plain 80x25, longer lines are wrapped and the bug does not occur. So maybe this is a relic from when GRUB didn't support changing screen modes. - It does not only happen on the "linux" line. In my tests, it happened reproducibly on some lines and reproducibly not on others, but I couldn't discern a pattern regarding which lines. - When the original line in grub.cfg is already longer than 80 characters, it doesn't happen, and I can extend the line even further without crashing. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
