Given that there was a fair amount of recoding related fixes in irssi since 0.8.10 I would expect this to be fixed already, too. Given that I never sent a ping about this bug yet I rather wait for your feedback before closing it right ahead, but I guess this shouldn't happen with 0.8.15 anymore.
