Yes, I am cross about having to jump through these hoops to extract information which it should be obvious needed to be included. I don't expect random users to get this stuff right but I do expect developers of downstream distributions to do better than this. Please, when you file bugs upstream in the future think about making your report useful to the person receiving it. How about as a minimum: * including the actual patch * describing what the patch does * describing why the patch does what it does This isn't rocket science!
