So, I dug into launchpad, extracted the patch from the debdiff, inferred
what the hell it was all supposed to be about despite no reasonable
explanation being present in either this bug report or launchpad and
sent the patch upstream for you.

Yes, I am cross about having to jump through these hoops to extract
information which it should be obvious needed to be included. I don't
expect random users to get this stuff right but I do expect developers
of downstream distributions to do better than this.

Please, when you file bugs upstream in the future think about making
your report useful to the person receiving it. How about as a minimum:
      * including the actual patch
      * describing what the patch does
      * describing why the patch does what it does

This isn't rocket science!
