It's been my experience with this kind of ABI breakage that the only good way out is through. If upstream has not been responsive to the need to change the soname in response to the ABI changes, then I would at least recommend changing the library package name to something like libmagick6debian1 so that this can be sorted out within the Debian package dependencies in unstable while we're waiting. -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world.
