Hi,

I get this with Squeeze and Sid, with kernel 2.6.32-5-amd64 and
2.6.37-2-amd64 and with apcupsd 3.14.4, 3.14.5, 3.14.7 and 3.14.8. I have
never gotten it in a system that is more than one year old and runs
2.6.32-trunk-686 and 3.14.5-2, but lately I haven't tried.

I switched motherboards on Oct. 19 2010 and never got it on the old
motherboard.

So you'd think it was the mobo: but this would be the only thing that goes
wrong with it: and there are:

Bus 001 Device 003: ID 04b4:6830 Cypress Semiconductor Corp. CY7C68300A
EZ-USB AT2 USB 2.0 to ATA/ATAPI
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 13fe:1d00 Kingston Technology Company Inc.
DataTraveler 2.0 1GB/4GB Flash Drive / Patriot Xporter 4GB Flash Drive
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 051d:0002 American Power Conversion Uninterruptible
Power Supply
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 04b8:010f Seiko Epson Corp. Perfection 1250
Bus 003 Device 003: ID 09da:0006 A4 Tech Co., Ltd Optical Mouse WOP-35 /
Trust 450L Optical Mouse

3 other USB devices never have any problems (the Epson scanner is temporary
but has no problems.)

So it could be the Back-UPS LS 500: it is from Oct. 2005 and now 5 years
old. But why does a reboot clear up the error?

A very un-linux reboot is necessary to clear up the error: that 'control
queue full' message never goes away and shows up every 10 secs and the root
partition won't unmount because it is busy.

I am thinking of switching UPS's
