OK in that case can you mail me a copy of your ~/.chroniclerc file, gzipped, so that I can try to reproduce it here? (I've tested, and had reports of success, that the actual *blog entries* are fine in UTF-8 - this is the first time I've seen a report of an issue with the ~/.chroniclerc file causing problems.)
