Subject: alsa-utils: package depends on python
Package: alsa-utils
Version: 1.0.9a-4
Severity: normal

*** Please type your report below this line ***

alsa-utils package is the only package on my system
which requires python, and i could only find
one script in package which uses python (correct me if i'm wrong)

The offender is a 3k script /usr/bin/set-default-soundcard,
which requires a ~20MB python package. Is it possible to remove
this 'bloat'?
