Can you upgrade to a later version of reportbug ( the squeeze one for example ) and see if the GTK+ UI helps you? (honestly, I don't understand how filtering on severity helps you identify a bug, do you know you can search inside teh bugs list f.e.? or probably it's just different workflows).
