Package: pm-utils
Version: 1.4.1-6
Severity: important

The latest Unstable version of pm-utils conflicts laptop-mode-tools, but
does not fully replace it's functionality. Installing laptop-mode-tools
fixed the constant head parking (I actually I edited it at some point,
to park it even less, but that's not the main point). After removing it,
the constant hdd head load/unload is back.
Now, pm-utils effectively forces the removal of laptop-mode-tools. I've
tried uninstalling pm-utils to keep laptop-mode-tools, but acpi-support
depends on pm-utils. In my understanding, acpi-support is needed for
detecting lid close, screen brightness control and maybe even suspend.
Please find a general fix for this problem which keeps coming back to
us. I'll â provide any needed information if I'm asked.
Thank you,
Alex
