Hi there!

I cc:ed all the people involved with this bug, sorry for the spam.

Now a bit less than 4 years...

It is a bit misleading to say "main system", I guess you were referring
to a standard installation, which usually means the base system plus
tasksel's desktop, print-server and mail-server.

This was still valid on a standard installation for lenny, with squeeze
the situation is different (again with base system plus tasksel's
desktop, print-server and mail-server):

--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
udev (146-4) unstable; urgency=high

  * permissions.rules: removed usage of group scanner which is not one
of the standard groups in base-passwd. (Closes: #549311)

udev (146-2) experimental; urgency=medium
[...]

  * permissions.rules: removed the rules referencing the non standard
groups rdma, kvm, fuse. (Closes: #532667)

1) /lib/udev/rules.d/91-permissions.rules
   - #532667, rdma files simply removed, the group is created by
      libibverbs1's postinst
   - #368674, /dev/fuse managed by /lib/udev/rules.d/60-fuse-utils.rules
(quickly reading the bug log it seems it was fixed way before this
       bug originated)
   - #493053 and #570544, /dev/kvm managed by
      /lib/udev/rules.d/60-qemu-kvm.rules or
      /lib/udev/rules.d/60-qemu-system.rules, respectively
   - #459682, /dev/tmp[0-9]* by lib/udev/rules.d/45-trousers.rules

2) on a *minimal* installation on top of the above you have group
   scanner from libsane (#549311, /lib/udev/rules.d/60-libsane.rules)

So, this bug is now fixed or, better, it was partly fixed with udev
version 146-2 and completely fixed with version 146-4 (lenny is still at
version 0.125-7+lenny3...).

Marco, given that this bug was a duplicate of #532667 (or, better, the
first occurrence), I merged them, hope it is OK for you.

Thx, bye,
Gismo / Luca
