Dear all,
I tried your various suggestions :
1) reinstalling the kernel package : went fine (and updated grub i the
process). I rebooted, then tried to hibernate : same behaviour at
resume...
2) I double checked that neither uswsusp nor tuxonice ever were on my
system.
3) tried the manual tests hinted at by Ben Armstrong : same results.
Since this last tests rule out the implication of pm-utils, I'm SOL. Two
questions :
1) any hint as to wich package is the culprit ?
2) how to reassign this bug to said package ?
