Package: debian squeeze netinstall
Version: 6.0.0

When I install debian via the netinstall method (burn CD, boot, install), the
installer asks for my network card type. I answer (correctly) 3c509. The
installer apparently is able to find the card and a driver for it as it then
connects to the Internet, downloads packages, etc.

However, the installer apparently does not transfer this knowledge to
the installed OS. When squeeze boots, aside from may other annoyances, it
has no clue there is a network card installed. My various attempts to fix
this have so far been in vain since I cannot access the Internet.

I would suggest that the installer should pass along the network interface
info that it used during the install to the installed system. I don't
remember having this issue with lenny.

I am using Debian GNU/Linux 6.0.0, kernel whatever it downloaded this AM.
