Good.

I tried to set MinSpeed, MaxSpeed, AccelFactor and synclient
showed the changed values, but nothing happens.
mithrandir:~# synclient | grep 'Speed\|Accel' | head -3
    MinSpeed                = 1
    MaxSpeed                = 2.5
    AccelFactor             = 0.015
mithrandir:~# synclient MinSpeed=0.3 MaxSpeed=0.75 AccelFactor=0.015
mithrandir:~# synclient | grep 'Speed\|Accel' | head -3
    MinSpeed                = 0.3
    MaxSpeed                = 0.75
    AccelFactor             = 0.015
mithrandir:~#

no change in mouse speed.

Ah, btw, it *is* functional, but only marginally, *very* slow.

When playing around wiht g-p-d I see crazy jumps of the values in
synclient, ore detailed:
- adjustment of MinSpeed in gpd works (shows in synclient)
- adjustment of MaxSpeed does *nothing*
- adjustmetn of AccelFactor in g-p-d changes the MaxSpeed, but not the accel
factor!

ut it also says
[    44.860] (EE) Query no Synaptics: 6003C8
[ 44.860] (--) AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint: no supported touchpad found
[ 44.860] (EE) AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint Unable to query/initialize Synaptics
hardware.
[ 44.912] (EE) PreInit failed for input device "AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint"
[    44.912] (II) UnloadModule: "synaptics"

The last line makes me nervous?

Does that information help for now?

Best wishes

Norbert
