Well, yes, I thought about it. And there's even a bug open on this regard:

I'm CCing the mail there, hope it's ok.

The problem is, I haven't found a nice&clean solution to this. Sure I might
detect which python versions are installed upon installation, and create
appropriate symlinks. But what if you later install another Python version?
You'd need to re-run bpython's postinst, and that's not nice, nor easily
doable, apart from "apt-get --reinstall install bpython".

I'll work on this, and once a good solution is found, I'll make a new upload ;)
