Ok, i've built libassuan 2.0.1 and rebuilt gnupg2 with that locally built libassuan and it didn't fix anything.
By the way, I noticed that libassuan wasn't available as a shared library, only the -dev package. If they are incompatibles I guess the various bits should be versioned inside and packages supporting one version would call the version they support (for example if you only support assuan 2, call libassuan2-config and not libassuan-config).
