Hi,
As the nvidia X driver is not autodetected, please consider installing a
minimal Xorg configuration file to /usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d/ during the
installation of the nvidia-glx package.
For example, the following snippet (as featured in README.Debian) could
be installed as /usr/share/doc/nvidia-glx/examples/20-nvidia.conf, then
copied to /usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d/ during package post-installation:
Section "Device"
Identifier "My GPU"
Driver "nvidia"
EndSection
This would assist in initial use of the driver and possibly eliminate
the need for a helper tool such as nvidia-xconfig.
