Package: plymouth
Severity: normal

There is a lot of powerpc hardware available right now, much of it
with decent ATI and NVIDIA graphics cards. at a minimum, the machines
tend to have decent framebuffers from openfirmware.

It would be nice to have plymouth available on this architecture for
"pretty" startup screens, especially since people with this hardware
are probably used to seeing pretty startups from that other OS.

it appears that this isn't doable at the moment because libdrm-intel
is not being built on powerpc, since there are no supported intel GPUs
on powerpc machines on the market.

Maybe this could be worked around by avoiding linking to libdrm-intel
on powerpc for plymouth?
