Package: gnome Version: 1:2.10.1.1 Severity: normal Hi,
The default print configuration and print tools under GNOME expect a local CUPS server on 127.0.0.1 and pulling in cupsys avoids a lot of breakage with RPC programs (such as FAM) due to a bug in libcupsys (#261179). Having cupsys installed also permits queuing print jobs for remote printers. Since this is not absolutely necessary (one can configure a remote CUPS server instead), I suggest we add a Recommend in gnome for cpusys. Another option is to put the Recommend in packages relying on CUPS being available at 127.0.0.1, such as gnome-cups-manager. Let me know what you think of this.
