As a workaround is available, although it's not exactly ideal, this isn't a blocker for the release. Should a d-i RC3 be needed for some reason before release this could probably be fixed as part of that, otherwise is likely to be 6.0.1 material (although in that case should be documented somewhere that can be pointed to as part of the release announcement).
