I just did a fresh install of testing on my ppc Mac Mini, and yes, valgrind segfaults just like he describes.
tuva:~> dpkg -l valgrind ... ii valgrind 1:3.6.0~svn112 A memory debugger and profiler tuva:~> uname -a Linux tuva 2.6.32-5-powerpc #1 Wed Jan 12 04:47:03 UTC 2011 ppc GNU/Linux tuva:~> valgrind /bin/ls Segmentation fault tuva:~> Upstream claims to support PPC32 and PPC64. Wouldn't it be embarrassing to release Squeeze for ppc with a broken valgrind? It's a vital development tool for many of us. regards, /Jorgen -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
