Coin,This bug is similar but not identical to #414317, so i think it's better to open a new bug.
I got internet access problems, and my ppp session kept going down very so often during hours. When it goes up again, 'rndc reconfig' is run, and at some point it caused named to crash with the following message:
named[2156]: mem.c:1099: INSIST(ctx->stats[i].gets == 0U) failed, back traceI recompiled bind9 with debug info and the same optimization flags, and after installing gdb from unstable (for PIE support) and struggling with symbols a bit, i got the following trace using the generated core file:
