Thank you for the bug report.

I can not reproduce it.

After reviewing you strace data, I believe that you are using
libc6-i686.

libc6-i686 is known to has risk of compatibility problems, so I suggest
you to remove the "libc6-i686" package and try fpm2 again.

Removing "libc6-i686" is absolutely harmless, and you can reinstall it
later without problem.

Otherwise I have no idea why fpm2 segfaults on your machine.

I have forwarded the bug to upstream author of fpm2.
