Then I think that this is not xfce(4-terminal) related, but related to 'vte'. According to sources of xfce4-terminal & gnome-terminal, the transparency is obtained by the call of: vte_terminal_set_background_transparent() from the files: xfce4-terminal-0.2.4/terminal/terminal-screen.c gnome-terminal-2.10.0/src/terminal-widget-vte.c This function is declared in <vte/vte.h>. According to `apt-file`, this leads to the packages "libvte-dev" (usr/include/vte/vte.h) Then I don't know anything about VTE stuff. Sorry. HTH yet. See you -- Cyril Brulebois
