Hi Marco, Thanks for the answer. I forgot to mention that the mouse under etch and lenny works fine for many years. I tried your proposal, but without success. I have found a patch for evdev in the ubuntu bugtracker, which should solve this problem. <https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/325581> Unfortunately it does not play with squeeze. So I scanned my backup-archives for this machine and still found a xorg.conf from etch from 2007. Now also the mouse is running.
