Package: python2.6 Version: 2.6.6-8+b1 Severity: important Hi.
I had problem when upgrading python r...@tytus:~# dpkg --configure -a Konfigurowanie openoffice.org-java-common (1:3.2.1-11) ... Konfigurowanie openoffice.org-officebean (1:3.2.1-11) ... Konfigurowanie python (2.6.6-3+squeeze4) ... Linking and byte-compiling packages for runtime python2.6... Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/pycompile", line 314, in <module> main() File "/usr/bin/pycompile", line 300, in main options.force, options.optimize, e_patterns) File "/usr/bin/pycompile", line 196, in compile ftime = os.stat(fn).st_mtime OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/usr/lib/python2.6/dist- packages/bzrlib/plugins/bzrtools/baz_import.py' Then LOTS of packages fails to upgrade (gnome, openoffice, python-*) Removing offending symlink (and .pyc file) for this and few other broken symlinks in the same directory, and reruning dpkg --configure -a solved problem. # dpkg --configure -a Konfigurowanie python (2.6.6-3+squeeze4) ... Linking and byte-compiling packages for runtime python2.6... Konfigurowanie python-dev (2.6.6-3+squeeze4) ... .... .... It is probably problem in bzrlib but upgrade should gracefully support broken symlinks to .py files, and in such situation probably removing .pyc file would be also appropriate.
