Hi Karl As far as I know there is no man database as you describe it. Manual pages are simply installed to /usr/share/man/man?/<name>.?.gz
But maybe things have changed since I built this package, but I can not find anything in the Debian policy handbook about this. http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-docs.html Are you sure about your statement? // Ola On Sun, Jan 09, 2011 at 09:45:19AM +1030, Karl Goetz wrote: > Package: dpsyco-cfengine > Severity: normal > > > Hi, > I installed dpsyco-cfengine then removed it. it appears to have left > its man page in my man database though: > > : ~ $ apropos update-dpsyco-cfengine > update-dpsyco-cfengine (1) - (unknown subject) > : ~ $ man update-dpsyco-cfengine > man: can't resolve /usr/share/man/man1/update-dpsyco-cfengine.1.gz: No such > file or directory > No manual entry for update-dpsyco-cfengine > : ~ $ apt-file search /usr/share/man/man1/update-dpsyco-cfengine.1.gz > dpsyco-cfengine: /usr/share/man/man1/update-dpsyco-cfengine.1.gz > > Running 'mandb' then 'apropos update-dpsyco-cfengine' returns nothing. > Perhaps its missing > post install? > thanks, > kk > > > -- System Information: > Debian Release: squeeze/sid > APT prefers testing > APT policy: (500, 'testing') > Architecture: i386 (i686) > > Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686-bigmem (SMP w/2 CPU cores) > Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) > Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash > > Versions of packages dpsyco-cfengine depends on: > ii cfengine2 2.2.10-2 Tool for configuring and > maintaini > pn dpsyco-lib <none> (no description available) > > dpsyco-cfengine recommends no packages. > > dpsyco-cfengine suggests no packages. > > > -- --------------------- Ola Lundqvist --------------------------- / o...@debian.org Annebergsslingan 37 \ | o...@inguza.com 654 65 KARLSTAD | | http://inguza.com/ +46 (0)70-332 1551 | \ gpg/f.p.: 7090 A92B 18FE 7994 0C36 4FE4 18A1 B1CF 0FE5 3DD9 / --------------------------------------------------------------- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
