As someone already mentioned, purge should remove user and conf files and
all data files.

Look at the aptitude manpage:
Purge <package>: remove it and all its associated configuration and data
files.

apt-get manpage:
purge is identical to remove except that packages are removed and purged
(any configuration files are deleted too).

Purge should delete evvvverythinnng! That is what i expect as a user of
your package when i run purge.
