Yet another year and no merge-dctrl despite promises. I suppose I should note here the chief reason: I am still not confident that I know what the program should do! It is not at all obvious what the correct specification is.
I return to this bug from time to time and try to handle it but every time I get bogged down in the specification stage, and give up, for the time being. However, I have not lost hope.
