Well, from upstream bug report pointed in the RH bug report you mention, this issue doesn't really seem to be fully fixed. So, I'm quite reluctant to ask the release team for a freeze exception for something that's maybe not yet fully fixed (and, as far as I can tell, not released by upstream in any of their releases yet).
