I'm not sure why you believe this is an issue on *any* architecture. Yes, libdns55 depends on libisc52; however, the only thing that depends on libdns55 is the old, no longer installed, version of bind9. The new version of bind9 depends on libdns58, which in turn depends on libisc50. You should be able to purge both libdns55 and libisc52 from your system with no adverse effects.
