One of the features I really like in xmobar is the optional Mail plugin. If you haven't used it, its very handy, and uses inotify (via the Haskell hinotify package) to show you message counts on Maildir folders. I thought I'd check with you to see if its possible to add that feature to the build, by adding the "--with_inotify" flag. To help, I've made a debian package of hinotify and have been getting assistance from the Debian HaskellGroup to get it packaged.
