I just tried removing the mozilla-firefox and mozilla-firefox-webdeveloper packages, blowing away my profile directory completely, and reinstalling mozilla-firefox (but not webdeveloper). It is still crashing, though perhaps a bit less often.
Possibly related, since this crashing bug seems to have something to do with tabs: since installing the update, middle-clicking on links has become very unreliable. For example, if I go to Slashdot and middle-click on any of the "Read More" links, I either get a "URL is invalid" error message or, even stranger, the current tab gets sent to a completely unrelated page. For example, I just middle-clicked on one such link and got sent to a political blog that's not even mentioned or linked to anywhere on the Slashdot home page.
