python-qt4 of Debian Sid (4.7.3) becomes also a little bit old. There are now PyQt 4.7.4, 4.7.5, 4.7.6 4.7.7, 4.8 and 4.8.1. It looks like 4.7.4 now raises Python exceptions on an invalid signal connections.
