Some update: I finally managed to remove and install Bluez-utils (3.36-3) by manually copying bluetoothd daemon from the backport package and now the package allows me but install and remove itself.
I managed to get the system recognize (manually) my USB dongle, by using hciconfig hci0 up. (I'm not sure if my previous failure caused by the bug or my ignorance). Previously despite I insert the dongle, its BD address was always oo:oo. etc. After the initialization, the dongle gets address and I can even scan and detect nearby bluetooth devices, by typing hcitool scan. However the bluetooth manager (located System -> Preferences -> Bluetooth) (which previously I falsely assumed to be "bluetooth-applet") still does not appear at the indication (tray) area despite I get the dongle be initialized. When I open the bluetooth manager and select "always display icon" option on General tab to enable the icon visible and right-click the icon to see if "Send file.." and "Browse device" menu items are enabled, they are disabled. Moreover, the problem with obex server still continues. Despite, I'm a novice I learnt a few tricks (thanks to internet) and when I type "obex-data-server --no-daemon --system-bus" and run "dbus-monitor --system" on two separate consoles, obex-data-server --no-daemon --system-bus output: "/usr/bin/obex-data-server --no-daemon --system-bus ** Message: obex-data-server 0.3.4 ** Message: Using System bus ** (obex-data-server:25406): WARNING **: Unable to register service: Connection ":1.117" is not allowed to own the service "org.openobex" due to security policies in the configuration file" (BTW The system is unable to find obex-data-server unless entire path is provided.) And dbus-monitor --system output: "signal sender=org.freedesktop.DBus -> dest=(null destination) path=/org/freedesktop/DBus; interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=NameOwnerChanged string ":1.117" string "" string ":1.117" signal sender=org.freedesktop.DBus -> dest=(null destination) path=/org/freedesktop/DBus; interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=NameOwnerChanged string ":1.117" string ":1.117" string "" " I hope this extra data provides some insight into the bug.
