Bug#518219: bash does not track command history

"On Debian testing squeeze with bash 4.1.5 everything works:
$ gnuplot
$ who
$ whoami
$ history
1  gnuplot
2  who
3  whoami
4  history"

Sorry, the version is wrong. I used 4.1-3.
