Michael, since I ushare hasn't yet made it into Debian, I might offer a little
advice.

One of the original goals when I intended to package ushare for Debian was to
get INOTIFY/DNOTIFY support in so that restarts weren't required to receive new
media notification events. However, I found a number of other problems in using
this software - various items in the configuration file were ignored completely
and only permitted as command line arguments (despite being documented for the
configuration file).

ushare isn't building quite so happily for me any more, and in about a weeks'
time will hit three years since it was released.

I'm tempted to advise closing this and suggesting the use of minidlna instead.
It meets the original goal of having DNOTIFY support as well as being
lightweight and headless in operation. I've not had any trouble with building
it, configuring it or using it.

Since the ushare site declares development as discontinued, it may be
preferable to use minidlna instead.

Regards,
rob.
