Just tried it. It does work with 2.7.7, as long as one sets "Connection security" to "Use encryption if available" and enables "Use clientLogin". Or it also works with "Don't use encryption", regardless of the setting of clientLogin. The pidgin devs seem to suggest that eventually "Require encryption" will work too, once the ICQ server admins enable SSL for all the servers. Again, thanks for the quick upload!
