Thanks a lot Tim for your help in tracking this down. Very much appreciated! Unfortunately we are at a situation here, where chvt breaks resume for the binary nvidia driver (as in your case) yet in other cases it is needed (as the git commit says). It seems we need a better heuristic for binary nvidia, when to apply chvt and when not. I will try to get more information on that.
