Package: Installer on Debian Sarge
Version: Sarge (Debian 3.1) Stable

I have opted to manually edit the /etc/apt/sources.list file on an
initial installation to point to a local debian mirror.

I notice that the installer still attempts to go to security.debian.org
even though I never explicitly put that in the /etc/apt/sources.list
file.

This is a problem for some areas where there is either none or tightly
restricted access to the outside Internet.

There is no clarification within the installer on Debian Sarge as to
why the installer is trying to go to security.debian.org even when
there is no explicit entry in /etc/apt/sources.list.

Nor is there any opportunity (or clearly indicated one) for one to
enter proxy information during the install.
