Actually, the situation is worse than I had thought, as pointed out by Eduard Bloch on #602392: "On Sun, Nov 7, 2010 at 11:25 AM, Eduard Bloch < e...@gmx.de> wrote:
You are right but the situation is worse than you assumed. ATM I can not find any OOT module source supposed to be built on kFreeBSD. Even your virtualbox-ose-guest-dkms, if you look at the source then you will see that it requires Linux kernel build system for its build process." That said, the folks working on the FreeBSD ports made it work (just without using dkms, etc.) and their equivalent of virtualbox-ose-guest-source will compile on the freebsd kernel. However, it would seem that such a build process unique to kfreebsd would have to be carried over to Debian GNU/kfreebsd for it to compile. See http://wiki.freebsd.org/VirtualBox, "Guest Additions for FreeBSD guests" section for compiling instructions of the port and http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ports/emulators/virtualbox-ose-additions/files/for the raw files. http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/ports.cgi?query=virtualbox-ose&stype=all will show all virtualbox-ose related ports (not just the guest additions). Seems like a lot of work.
