Package: org-mode
Version: 7.01g-1
Severity: important
Hello,
loading org-mode files with emacs23 works as expected, but with xemacs21,
the file is not loaded and only the error
"Symbol's definition is void: decompose-region" is printed.
Backtrace is as follows:
Debugger entered--Lisp error: (void-function decompose-region)
signal(void-function (decompose-region))
byte-code("..." [buf data kill-buffer signal] 3)
find-file-noselect("~/todo.org")
find-file("~/todo.org" nil)
call-interactively(find-file)
Running xemacs with -debug-init does not reveal any errors or warnings.
It is still possible to open the same files with a different extension,
which don't trigger the switch to org-mode automatically. Switch to
org-mode with "ESC-x org-mode" on the opened file then switches to
org-mode without any error.
"decompose-region" is only used in one file of org-mode, in
/usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/org-mode/org.el
It is not used in the the same file in the version 6.05-2 in lenny, which
is why I am filing this bug against org-mode.
This might be a problem of xemacs, the changelog from the installed
version has one older entry that looks related:
1999-05-26 SL Baur <st...@gneiss[...]>
[...]
* mule/mule-charset.el (compose-region):
(decompose-region): remove; these functions (which don't work
since we don't do composite characters) have been moved to
mule-util.el.

Karsten (aka CutMeOwnThroat)
