I more think this is not a bug but a wish for a feature, I mean even in proper textsetting like (La)TeX you also need to remove \ref's pointing to a \label if you remove a \label. And for feature wishes, you should not have reported it here at all but on bugs.freedesktop.org, I won't add features myself, and maintaining bugs there which get only forwarded is time-wasting.
