No, I do not believe so. I did a quick check and the problem seems to be that the scripts are run using run-parts (with no options) which ignores files with dots in the name. Why it does that, I have no idea. but it is documented in run-parts(8). Perhaps this should be reflected in mknitrd(8). Do you want to make a patch to do that?
